Salsa
Salsa is a social dance.
Salsa is a hobby.
Salsa is fun.
Salsa is recreational.
Salsa in enjoyable.
Salsa is distressing.
Salsa is a skill.
Salsa is also a sauce.

No one teaches anyone how to use a sauce.
How one uses it, where one uses it, for what does one use it and in how much quantity, is completely dependent on the user. The user has to apply his/her own judgement which decides the result.

Many people say that they are taking Salsa lessons/Salsa classes. It is not a lesson/class. There is a huge difference between the Salsa which is a lesson and the Salsa which is a dance.

The Salsa which is a lesson is like any other dance in the world.
It is limited, monotonous, repetitive, choreographed, enjoyable but not explored to the fullest. What is the point behind naming it the Salsa if it has to be just another dance?

The Salsa which is a dance is like the open sky. Once an individual ventures into it, he/she realises that it has a very vast expanse which knows no bounds. One can continuously keep exploring it! There is nothing known as 'the final stage' in Salsa.

When Salsa started becoming famous as a dance, I'm pretty sure that no one choreographed it. It was more spontaneous than decided.
It still is. It’s just been made easier, thanks to the introduction of the technicalities in the form of the leads, the turns etc.
Everything in Salsa is the individual's own. The moves, the style, the attitude & the effort put in to relax & enjoy!

Salsa is all about breaking rules! Once an individual gets the technicalities, he/she is free to make his own Salsa on any dance floor anywhere in the world. No one can correct the individual because Salsa does not have mistakes.

Salsa needs to be enjoyed not mastered. Enjoying Salsa happens when an individual really lets go of himself/herself & lets the dance take over. Salsa does not need the mind of the individual. It’s better if the mind is left at home.

And there is no need for worry. What if I can't learn it? What if I can't understand the music? What if I can't lead well? What if I can't follow well? All this does not feature in the dictionary of Salsa.

The individual just needs to be open to having fun. The rest will just follow. Salsa is easier to dance than to talk about. The proof will be one's own personal experience which will definitely be amazingly unforgettable!

Its hot spicy rhythm forces hips to sway to the beat. It is one of the most dynamic musical styles of the Western World. After all it is the no.1 social dance in the world.
